about

Drinkin' & Thinkin' is about sitting in your rocking chair on your front porch at 80 years old, with a glass of whisky in hand, and reflecting on your life. What choices were you afraid to make that you now have regrets not making? What choices did you make that led you down a path of incredible adventure, joy, and fulfillment? And through it all, what was the most important thing that you found on your journey? Hopefully the answer is the one thing that connects us all. It's unconditional. Love.

A careful blend of melodies between pop-punk and country, this "punktry" song is sure to catch your ear and have you singing-along in no time!

lyrics

Lyrics:

When I’m finally sittin’ in the old man's chair
Rockin’ back and forth, lookin’ worse for wear
Fulfillment stretched from ear-to-ear
Glass in hand, I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love

Live a good damn life, no regrets or fear
And when my time is up, I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout

Love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love

When I’ve lost my way down the winding road
And the map’s being drawn up as I go
Find myself at another fork
Take a swig for courage, and I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love

A risk leading to an impending doom
Is a life worth living, I said a life worth living, and I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout

Love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love

I’ve been chasing you through the rain
Now my boots are muddy and my pride is strained
And my heart’s so heavy, I can’t bear the weight
Of another cold lonely night (hey! hey! hey!)
Now my palms are sweaty and my patience drained
And my armor’s cracked, but the scars look great
The whisky burnin’ down the memories
So I’ll keep drinkin’ but I’ll quit thinkin’ ‘bout love

I’ll quit thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll quit thinkin’ ‘bout love, baby
Said I’ll quit thinkin’ ‘bout love
For now...

Love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
Drinkin’ and thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love (I'll be thinkin' 'bout)
(I'll be thinkin' 'bout) I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love
I’ll be thinkin’ ‘bout love

about

John Maksym Kitchener, Ontario

Kitchener, Ontario-native John Maksym spent his childhood jumping on furniture, singing along to every Springsteen hit. He would don a red cape and pretend to be on the big stage, entertaining the masses. Fast forward and that kid has become a well-respected recording artist, songwriter, and performer—trading in his red cape for a fresh jacket, and hitting those big stages to entertain the masses. ... more
